Ag Systems Overview
In 1998, McLanahan Agriculutral Systems Divsion launched its first Sand-Manure Separation System at Green Meadow Farms in Elsie, Michigan. Today, the same Sand-Manure Separtion System at Greens' plays an integral role separating sand from manure prior to an anaerobic digester. Since our initial installation, Mclanahan Sand Solutions can be found throughout the U.S. and worldwide with Systems in Asia, Europe and South America operation on dairies as small as 125 cows and as large as 15,000 cows.
Treatment of manure to partition nutrients as well as reduce pollution potential and odor is the future of manure handling. Use of these complex systems is possible only if sand is removed from manure beforehand. Our goal is to achieve sufficient sand recovery to enable manure effluent to be processed through treatment systems such as anaerobic digesters. We won't stop there! The recovered sand must be re-useable and clean enough to support clean, comfortable and healthy cows.
One thing is certain, there is not a one-size-fits-all when it comes to Sand Solutions. So, we offer Sand Solutions to match herd size (small or large), desired sand recovery percentage, and facility management routine. Our sales and engineering personnel are the best at taking all of these factors into consideration and suggesting and designing the best System.
